We worked on a collaboration together with Gian Gisiger in the framework of the design of the new Balenciaga logotype. The aim was to create a new, simple, timeless logo as a contemporary version of the previous classic Balenciaga logo. The initial inspiration for the new design was the signage in a Paris metro station, which we adapted to create a crisp new face for Balenciaga. Final drawing by Chi-Long Trieu.
Balenciaga, the French luxury fashion house founded by Cristóbal Balenciaga, has always enjoyed a reputation of uncompromising standards. Beginning 2015, Georgian designer Demna Gvasalia injected the brand with a breath of fresh air, taking his aesthetic and mundane brand-abstractions to Balenciaga's runways. To signify this major shift in design Bureau Borsche worked together with Mr. Gvasalia to create a new website for Balenciaga that would be utterly brilliant in its simplicity and superbly user-friendly. A basic grid system guides customers through Balenciaga's collections allowing for a fast and fun check-out in their online shop.
